There are a variety of products on the market to clean your floor tiles. The products you choose will depend on your cleaning needs and the type of tile you have. For instance, if you have a stain on your tile floor, you can clean it with hydrogen peroxide or hot water mixed with a mild detergent. You can also use a commercial cleaner for stubborn stains and grease. Afterwards, you should let the cleaning mixture sit for a while to loosen the stain. Slate and marble, on the other hand, will need different cleaning methods.

What to clean Floor Tiles with?

Steam mop

Steam mopping ceramic and porcelain tiles is a great way to disinfect and clean them. It is also a safer alternative to traditional cleaning methods. The heat generated from the steam can remove stubborn dirt and stains from tiles and grout. Because it doesn’t use harsh chemicals, you can use a steam mop around your family’s health without worry. It can take only five minutes to steam clean your floor tiles and can save you tons of money.

The steam mop works by using water and a high pressure steam head. Once the water is heated, a push button gets the cleaning started. The steam mop has variable steam levels, so you can adjust the strength of the steam as needed. You can use it on most hard floors, although you can’t use it on carpet. It has a 23-foot cord, making it easy to cover most rooms. It also comes with a removable water container so you don’t have to worry about running out of water.

Steam mops are available in various models, with different features and functions. Some of them have a grout tool and are ideal for cleaning stubborn dirt. Another useful feature is a nozzle that enables you to reach tight corners. The water tank should be large enough to allow for 20 minutes of cleaning, and you should consider the length of the power cord.

Steam mops can be used on hard surfaces, including tiles and grout. However, they should be used sparingly, as the water absorbed by the grout may cause it to darken. If this happens, you can try applying a grout sealant on the grout. This is a relatively easy DIY project and can be done at a local hardware store. Although sealants come in spray bottles, the residual spray can be difficult to remove.

When using a steam mop, be careful not to let the steam build up on your floor too much, as this can harm it. Also, you should vacuum your floors beforehand. This helps remove surface dirt, crumbs and hair. You also need to change the mop cloth often, since steam can build up quickly.

Hydrogen peroxide

If you want to clean grout and floor tiles without damaging them, hydrogen peroxide is a great solution. This powder combines with water to create a powerful cleaning solution that works by soaking up stain molecules. It is safe for most types of grout and tile, as well as laminate flooring. However, you should avoid using this solution on colored grout. Its fumes are toxic and can damage the grout color.

Hydrogen peroxide is a natural alternative to bleach. A solution of two tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide and one cup of baking soda is a powerful cleaner. This solution can penetrate into porous grout and remove tough stains. After the solution has cured, rinse the tiles with warm water and a microfiber cloth. Alternatively, you can also combine hydrogen peroxide with white vinegar and pour it into a spray bottle.

Hydrogen peroxide is also a good disinfectant for toilet bowls and shower areas. Its powerful cleaning solution can remove soap scum, mould, and mildew. It can be sprayed on floor tiles and grout, but it works best when applied for 20 minutes.

Hydrogen peroxide can be used for cleaning ceramic and porcelain tiles. For stubborn stains, you can also make a paste of vinegar and baking soda. However, be aware of the fact that soap-based cleaning solutions can leave a residue on your tiles and make them slippery when wet. It is also important to note that strong acidic solutions should not be used on unpolished porcelain tiles. Lastly, make sure to dry the tiles well. If you do not, you can get water spots.

Apart from cleaning your floor tiles, hydrogen peroxide is also a good option for sterilizing cuts and wounds. It is also an effective natural cleaning agent as it is free from chemical compounds and is not harmful to the health. Hydrogen peroxide can remove filth from between tiles, but will not damage the grout.

Besides the cleaning process, you must also make sure to seal the grout in order to protect it from staining and bacteria. This will make your floor tiles last longer and look cleaner.
